Toronto disco-metal duo Death From Above 1979 are set for a speedy return to the UK after their much-anticipated reunion, with a series of gigs announced for February next year.

DFA 1979 will play headline shows in Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester, London and Birmingham on the tour, which follows a run of shows last month in support of their long-awaited second LP A Physical World.

The new album – which grabbed a five-star review from us back in September – was the group’s first for ten years following their mid-noughties hiatus. Speaking to The Skinny on the band’s return, drummer Sebastien Grainger said that the reunion was “a matter of honouring this band”.

He said: “We have a respect and an excitement for the band and in the sense the audience would because it’s this external third thing that happens when we get together. That didn’t exist before; I was just this dude in the band.”

Tickets for Death From Above 1979’s UK shows in February 2015 go on sale on Mon 10 Nov.

Death From Above 1979 tour dates:
21 Feb – Limelight, Belfast
23 Feb – ABC, Glasgow
24 Feb – Ritz, Manchester
25 Feb – Brixton Academy, London
26 Feb – Institute, Birmingham
