Download Smell the Da.I.S.Y., a new J-Dilla produced mixtape from De La Soul

After previewing two tracks over the last month, Dilla Plugged In and Vocabulary Spills, today seminal Long Island hip-hop trio De La Soul have released their new mixtape, Smell the Da.I.S.Y., for free online. The mixtapte is constructed entirely from beats made by the late, great producer J. Dilla.

The band write: "We’re happy to announce the release of our brand new mixtape fully produced by the late great J Dilla... The mixtape consists of 11 songs of classic De La vocals over unreleased J Dilla production. With this project we just wanted to be creative. Dilla was always our muse for creativity. He was always that springboard, that person, that individual, that sound, that generated creation, generated inspiration.  He meant a lot to us and to hip-hop as a whole."

Back in February, the band made their entire back catalogue available for free online for one day, via their website. A new album, You're Welcome, is expected this summer. Download the album here, via Bit Torrent, or via wearedelasoul.com
