NEW VIDEOS: PIXIES, ARCADE FIRE, LIARS, M.I.A., ONEOHTRIX POINT NEVER, DEMDIKE STARE, KID 606, PATTEN, WAMPIRE, STEP BROTHERS, PHARRELL WILLIAMS
Not content with losing just one band member, after the departure of founder-member and bassist Kim Deal, Pixies new video sees them blowing up guitarist Joey Santiago. He wanders through the desert looking increasingly beleagured, before finally popping like a meat-filled pinata. They play the Barrowlands tonight.

Arcade Fire's third video to be taken from their album Reflektor (reviewed here) is directed by Emily Kai Bock, who has previously worked with Grimes and Grizzly Bear. It's a low-key, French-language tale of a flower-seller and his family.

Liars have been sharing some details of their next LP, due March 2014. The album, currently without a title, will be "immediate, fun, instinctual and confident," the band's Angus Andrew told Red Bull Music. "Creation for creation’s sake. No rules. No mistakes." The videos below show some new visuals, and feature snippets of the new material.

M.I.A. unveiled the new video from Matangi (reviewed here) this week – Y.A.L.A. is a play on the phrase Y.O.L.O. (You only live once), popularised by R&B star Drake. It features guest appearances from The Partysquad and Kenzo.

A new video from experimental producer Daniel Lopatin aka Oneohtrix Point Never features a live performance at MoMA. and comes as he extends his European and US tour. It features Lopatin performing tracks from R Plus 7 (reviewed here), with visuals by long-term collaborator Nate Boyce. Read our recent interview with Lopatin here.

Keeping things experimental, Manchester noiseniks Demdike Stare release their much-anticipated fourth entry in their Testpressing series before the year's up. This week they dropped a new video, Transmission, featuring cut-up visuals, spectral, ritualistic percussion and their customary tailored drones. It is a thing of great beauty.

Kid606 recently released new album Happiness – the first video to be unveiled is an animated clip for Cute Never Dies. It is appropriately kawaii

Reclusive Warp producer patten follows up his 2011 debut with a new EP Eolian Instate, with a full-length album to follow next year. Here's the video for new track Aviary.

Wampire, the Portland indie-pop band who released debut album Curiosity this year, have released a new video for The Hearse, featuring an 80s photoshoot which goes wrong in a dark and disturbing way...

Rhymesayers rap crew Step Brothers (aka Alchemist & Evidence) have released a video for the lead single from their album Lord Steppington, showing the rappers in a variety of contests to decide a victor in the great battle of sibling rivalry.

And finally... Pharrell Williams has released the world's first '24-hour music video' this week, featuring guest appearances from Steve Carell, Odd Future, Jamie Foxx, Kelly Osbourne and others. Watch it exclusively here.

NEW TRACKS: EVIAN CHRIST, WITHERED HAND, TAME IMPALA X EROL ALKAN, SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO & COSMIN TRG
Fresh from his magnificent beat-work for Kanye on Yeezus (reviewed here), producer Evian Christ has unveiled details of a new EP for Brooklyn label Tri-Angle. He has also shared a track from the EP, Salt carousel. The EP, Waterfall, drops early next year. Read our recent interview with Evian Christ here.

One man folk sensation Withered Hand has announced plans to release his second album New Gods in February 2014 – and he has shared a new track, the jangly Black Tambourine. Watch a trailer for the album here.

Tame Impala have unveiled a parting gift for fans before retreating from their epic Lonerism tour to their native Oz for some downtime – it's a second re-working of the band's material by Phantasy boss Erol Alkan, and it really delivers the goods.

Finally, a collaboration between Simian Mobile Disco and Cosmin TRG – their team-up is out on 9 December. The track's title, Surströmming, refers to a noxious food beloved by the Swedes: "This northern Swedish delicacy of tinned, fermented sour herring has the dubious claim to fame of being the most putrid smelling food substance! in! the! world," it says on their Soundcloud page. "The burbling, queasy synth tones reflect the effects of this scent on all but the true connoisseurs."

MIX: JACKMASTER (NUMBERS)

TRAILERS: ANCHORMAN 2, MUPPETS MOST WANTED, ROBOCOP
A quick round-up of trailers, starting with the new Ron Burgundy TV spot. For once, the hotly-anticipated follow-up to Anchorman actually looks like it might be worth your time and hard-earned cash.

Muppets Most Wanted sees the lovable felt critters team up with Ricky Gervais and Tina Fey, in an Ocean's Eleven-style crime caper. At the very least, it looks like it might not be the kiddie-centric musical twee-fest that characterised the last big screen outing for the Muppets. But it's still not quite The Happytime Murders.

And finally, our hopes are growing that the Robocop reboot might not completely suck, thanks to this new trailer, which features a few more clips of both Gary Oldman and Michael Keaton in action.
