The Shimmy Skinny Launch

Gallery | 09 Aug 2010

The Shimmy Skinny was launched in August 2009 to provide a regular guide to dance and physical theatre at the Edinburgh Fringe. Combining features, reviews and opinionated editorial, it covered Dance Base's programme and the broader currents of physical performance across the Festivals.

For 2010, the Shimmy is back and better than ever. It's expanded its remit, to cover more shows and include eclectic cabaret. Thrice weekly, with 1000 copies distributed per day, the Shimmy 2010 is reaching out to other venues and performers, giving a platform to new ideas and new writers.

We had a little party to launch the first issue. Beers and burgers on the roof of Dance Base. Nice.
