Berlin’s bitch-glitch lords of the bastard dancehall return to Glasgow to help us celebrate our 9th birthday in the Subbie…. Straight off the back of their new LP – Supercontinental
Chris De Luca (formerly of Funkstörung) has released on !K7, Compost Records, Musik aus Strom, Acid Planet and remixed Björk, Wu-Tang Clan, Speedy J and Plaid whilst many will know Phon.o from his Burn Down the Town LP on Shitkatapult or his IMMENSE set at Numbers yesteryear.
But together its their mutant mix of dancehall, techno, booty hip hop and eurocrunk that have set our ears ablaze.
Their wonky production, love of twisted dub, dancehall and searing techno reinterpretation is a guaranteed hit having worked Glasgow separately and together in the past.
They will be dropping tracks from their recent collaborative album called Supercontinental, released on October 31, 2008 on Shitkatapult.
Some outstanding MCs simply couldn’t resist their production seduction and demanded to collaborate on the album, namely: Yo Majesty, the freshest new signing on Domino Records, Zion I, Data MC, Tunde Olaniran, the South African Spoek, Cerebral Vortex, Damaged Good$, Kovas, White Gold Princess, Hustle Heads and the 16-year-old youngster Rayzaflo.
To kill time in between intercontinental MC coordination, CLP let club sound magician Boys Noize hire them for a 12” guest performance on Boysnoize Records. In no time the friendly boy pulled two of their favourite remixers out of a hat: the Duo Infernale Diplo vs. Dj Sega and the incredible Mix Hell.
Ideal guests to wrap up the Afro’s affairs in 2008 and launch us into our 10th year of filthy business.
