I’ll open with a couple of songs, to try to open out the discussion. First is a bona-fide punk classic, even if the comments on the YouTube page seem more mixed-opinion than you’d expect.

The best punks songs:

Bikini Kill, ‘Double Dare Ya’, ‘Carnival’ and ‘White Boy’
Doom, ‘Nazi Die’ and ‘Police Bastard’
Team Dresch, anything from ‘Captain, My Captain’

Sex Pistols, The Clash et al do not enter into it. Proto-punk like Patti Smith was far superior to that nonsense.
