Tales of The Cocktail is an intentionally-capped-up Big Deal. The week-long celebration of mixed drinks and the people who mix them will bring a host of Europe's best bartenders and some of the world's best drinksmakers to Edinburgh's bars for a host of fun-packed cocktail hijinks. Tickets are completely sold out – boo! – but there are a host of events that are open to the public – yay!
These Dynamic Duos pair bars from Edinburgh and elsewhere for an evening of off-menu fun and interesting combinations. We've picked out some of the Duos we're most looking forward to, from hip-hop powered gin to zero-waste whiskey cocktails.
Darnley’s Gin Dynamic Duo of Cocktails X Butchery

One or None for the Road Dynamic Duo with The London Essence Company
As lovely as alcohol is, sometimes you just want a refreshing drink that won't leave you clutching a first-class ticket to Party Town. Upcycling and the Art of Bar Sustainability Dynamic Duo with Jack Daniel's
Nobody likes waste, so Lucky Liquor's Kaiko Tulloch is teaming with Marian Beke from London's The Gibson for a Jack Daniels-powered night of zero-waste bartending. Pickling and Preservation: Scandi style in Scotland Dynamic Duo with Patrón Tequila
Award winning bartender Jimmy Hulth, of Stockholm's Tjoget bar, presents a Scottish-Scandi hybrid menu of cocktails powered by Patrón, with the action taking place at the Voyage of Buck bar in the West End. 3 Apr, 9pm-midnight, The Voyage Of Buck, 29-31 William St.
Brooklyn in Bramble Dynamic Duo with Brooklyn Gin
We like New York. We like hip-hop. We like gin. Therefore, this Dynamic Duo – pairing Bramble bartenders with Jan Warren from the Dutch Kills bar in Queens – gets three thumbs up from us. Cocktails featuring NYC's own Brooklyn Gin flying across the bar and old school hip-hop bumping on the speakers; we strongly approve. 3 Apr, 9-11pm, Bramble, 16A Queen St.
Ryenamic Duo: Kyrö Distillery X The Bon Vivant
The world's northernmost all rye distillery, Finland's Kyrö Distillery head south to Edinburgh to launch a very special one-night-only project produced in collaboration with Bon Vivant and the Devil's Advocate. Kyrö's Pauliina Marjanen is joined by Will Cox of the Bon Vivant for an evening of cocktail rye-jinks. 4 Apr, 9.30-11.30pm, The Bon Vivant, 55 Thistle St.
