The Manchester Food and Drink Festival has reached its fitting finale with the annual festival awards, recognising and celebrating the best and brightest of the local hospitality industry – whether that's the city's favourite cheap eat and street food hotspot or the finest of fine dining.

With a total of 16 awards up for grabs alongside The Howard and Ruth Award for Outstanding Achievement, central Manchester received nods for the likes of Hawksmoor, Albert's Schloss and The French, but the outer districts of Greater Manchester also shone thanks to Ramsbottom's Levanter and Eagle and Child, Stockport Foodie Friday and Volta in Didsbury.

Particularly good to see due merit dished out to top-notch boozer The Smithfield Tavern and Indian street food heroes Chaat Cart, as well as hallowed sherry haven El Gato Negro.
