Leeds restaurants offering 50% off this January

It's not all bleak this January thanks to the annual influx of restaurant deals that'll let even the skintest of us eat out. We've picked out our favourites, but if you think there's somewhere good we've missed, email jess@theskinny.co.uk and we'll pop it in.

Shears Yard

50% off the a la carte menu (5.30-10pm Tuesday-Friday; 12-4pm Sunday)

Prove to your tastebuds that January might not be so drab after all with a half-price hit at Shears Yard, where you’ll find starters like cured venison loin with pear remoulade, cranberry jam and puffed black rice and mains such as sous vide beef sirloin with braised ox cheek, roast Jerusalem artichoke and confit garlic persillade. 50% off food (6-10pm Monday-Friday)

Arts Cafe venture into the realm of January deals for the first time, offering half price food including ponzu cured mackerel, whipped goats cheese and beetroot salad, seared venison haunch steak and roasted hake fillet with a saffron spiced butter bean ragout. To get in on the action, you'll need to book in advance.

Arc Inspirations bars

50% off food (all day Sunday-Thursday; until 7pm on Friday)

Yorkshire bar group Arc Inspirations are offering 50% off the food bill at their various restaurants in Leeds, including Manahatta, Banyan, Kith and Kin, Trio, Arc, The Box and Pit. Expect crowd-pleasing fare that covers everything from breakfasts, burritos and deep-fried brie to pizzas, powerbowls and poutine burgers. Click here to find out more.

The Grill on the Square

50% off food (excludes Fridays and Saturdays from 5pm)

All Blackhouse restaurants will be serving up a delectable 50% off throughout January – that includes Leeds' Grill on the Square, where you'll be able to chow down on everything excluding Wagyu beef and lobster for half price, including steaks, seafood, salads and more. Revolucion de Cuba

40% off food and drink

For those not abstaining for the booze, Revs de Cuba will be offering a heavy discount on everything, meaning you can work your way through all the pinchos, tapas, sarnies, steaks, salads and 'hamburguesas', while washing it down with a few mojitos, a bottle of wine or a few beers, before shelling out for just 60% of the total bill. Chaophraya

50% off the a la carte or set menu (excludes Saturdays)

Fancy some fresh Thai flavours for the new year? Head down to Chaophraya for prawn Tom-Yum, chicken satay, Massaman lamb curry, papaya salad, steamed sea bass fillets and more – all of which sound even tastier with 50% off, which you can get by booking in advance and quote ‘CHAO PASS’. 

The Alchemist

50% off food (excludes Fridays after 5pm and all day Saturdays)

Both of The Alchemist’s Trinity Leeds and Greek Street restaurants will be doing the January deal thing this year, offering 50% off the food bill. Along with globetrotting mains like jerk chicken, ramen, fajitas and chicken katsu curry, the offer also covers the ‘tapatisers’ menu of box-ticking small plates – nachos, Thai fish cakes, chicken wings, duck spring rolls and the like.
