Carrie Fisher sent cow tongue to sexual predator producer
If you didn’t think the Star Wars star could get any cooler, think again
We love the late actor, author and producer Carrie Fisher, but we love her even more after a story that emerged last night. Heather Ross, who was a close friend of Fisher’s, revealed that in 1999 she told Fisher that a high-profiled, Oscar-winning producer sexually assaulted her. Fisher’s response was to send the producer – who Ross has confirmed is not Weinstein – an appropriately unpleasant gift: a cow’s tongue.
Ross recalls how Fisher hand-delivered the gift-wrapped surprise: "It was a cow tongue from Jerry's Famous Deli with a note that said: 'If you ever touch my darling Heather or any woman again, the next delivery will be something of yours in a much smaller box'."
If Carrie Fisher had your back, it made life in Hollywood that bit easier, says Ross: “It felt validating to know, ‘Okay, first of all, this woman who I love as a friend was not just a fake Hollywood friend. That’s who she was. She spoke out and she put things out there in your face.”
If you weren’t aware already, Carrie Fisher rocked.
