Avengers: Age of Ultron's first trailer goes online

Feature by News Team | 23 Oct 2014

It’s not even November and the summer blockbuster race is on, with the first trailer released from Marvel's superhero sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Opening with a speech from the film’s chief villain Ultron, voiced with mechanical menace by James Spader, it looks to set up a much darker universe than the lively Avengers Assemble, where the banter between Thor, Captain America, Hulk et al was as much of a draw as its ballet of spandex and explosions.

There’s a lot packed into this teaser, with the first look at brother-sister bad guys Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) in action, as well as Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man decked out in his Hulkbuster armour.

Intended to be screened during their Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D TV show, Marvel were forced into officially releasing the trailer early after it leaked online yesterday. Take a look at the trailer, below, and tell us if you think Zack Snyder – at the helm of the forthcoming Batman vs. Superman crossover – should be worried.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is out in the UK on 24 Apr 2015.
