THE RUMOUR MILL: MARK FROST SQUASHES TWIN PEAKS RUMOURS
Following yesterday's Rumour Mill post about the possibility of David Lynch returning to the world of Twin Peaks, the cult 90s TV show he co-created with Mark Frost, we regret to inform you that it appears the casting call we mentioned is, in fact, a red herring.

Writing on Twitter, Lynch's co-creator Frost described the story as "another strange baseless rumour," and certainly not the first to surface regarding the show. In the replies to the tweet, there is speculation that the casting agency who posted the notice may have been pranked – one user points out: "Nothing captures the mystery of Twin Peaks like the phrase ‘MUST have an amazing body,’ does it?"

This article on Slate.com gives a good summary of the rumours from previous years, including Agent Dale Cooper actor Kyle MacLachlan's plan to bring the show back in the form of "five-minute webisodes." For now, it seems like the rumours will remain just that... so no Twin Peaks revival this year or next, at least for now. To console you, here's a video with every single mention of 'pie' and 'coffee' from the series.

TRAILERS: SNOWPIERCER, OPEN GRAVE
Snowpiercer is the hotly-anticipated English language debut of Korean filmmaker Bong Joon-ho (The Host). A certain amount of controversy has dogged this film, largely due to its US distributor's plans to cut 20 minutes from the 2-hour film for the Western market. Set on a train, which never stops moving, running through a snow-covered post-apocalyptic landscape, Joon-ho's film stars Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, John Hurt, Ed Harris and Joon-ho's regular leading man Song Kang-ho. It still lacks a UK and US release date, possibly due to the ongoing wrangles over the final cut – but here's the trailer for the Japanese market.

Next up, Sharlto Copley (District 9, Eylsium) stars in grisly horror flick Open Grave – he wakes up alone in a pit of dead, mutilated bodies, with no memory of how he got there. Then his day gets really bad. This already has a terrible score on Rotten Tomatoes, but with slick cinematography, plenty of gore, and the eminently watchable Copley in the lead, it may still be worth a watch. The film is directed by Gonzalo López-Gallego, last responsible for haunted moon mission flick Apollo 18.
