Barbara is a beautiful college girl just looking for the right guy, happily killing everyone else who gets in the way. When she meets a nice fellow who works in the college morgue, it could be love. But there’s the simple matter of all the annoying people who keep trying to stop her and an army of resurrected victims who just won’t stay dead. Coming straight from the same trip as the legendary Killer Tongue and Les Dents de la Nuit, Sexy Killer is basically a live action Spanish horror cartoon. Its biggest strength is its sheer unpredictability, with slasher references and direct-to-camera masterclasses in how to become a serial killer: it’s a genre fan’s dream. But the crazed invention comes at a price, as it never really settles into coherence and an unbalanced middle section drags badly, while the inspired zombie massacre finale is criminally short. Anarchic though hardly amazing fun, but it’s just too damn cute to dislike.
