The first bands confirmed for the 2018 TRNSMT festival at Glasgow Green have been revealed. Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher – who plays a sold-out show at the Hydro next month – will return to Glasgow in the summer to headline the second of the festival's five scheduled days on Saturday 30 June, and he'll be joined by fellow Manchester indie rockers Courteeners. Also on the bill for 30 June are North London four-piece Wolf Alice, and up-and-coming East London grime MC J Hus, hot on the heels of his Mercury and MOBO-nominated debut album Common Sense. More acts will be announced for next year's festival in the months ahead.

The first edition of the festival, programmed by T in the Park promoters DF Concerts, took place the past summer with its three days headlined by Kasabian, Biffy Clyro, and Radiohead's first Scottish gig in nearly a decade. Belle & Sebastian, The 1975, Stormzy and Twin Atlantic all featured further down the bill at this year's festival – read our reviews of day one and day three of TRNSMT 2017.

TRNSMT 2018 takes place at Glasgow Green on 29 Jun, 30 Jun, and 1 Jul, and 6 & 8 Jul at Glasgow Green. Pre-sale tickets for TRNSMT 2018 go on sale on Wed 29 Nov, with the general sale beginning on Fri 1 Dec.
