Comedian Stewart Lee is to curate the second of ATP’s revived holiday camp weekend festivals in Prestatyn, North Wales next April.

Lee's weekender will take place at Pontins in the Welsh seaside resort from 15-17 April 2016. Announcing his involvement, Lee said: “Of all the ATPs I've attended, the 2001 weekend, when Tortoise curated it and laid American free jazz, European improv noise, alternative country rock, alienating stand-up comedy, ambient electronica, 80s hardcore, 70s CBGBs nostalgia, smart-arse post punk, Dutch anarcho-jazz and all manner of unexpected cross-currents on curious young people, remains a pivotal point in my musical education.

"It's a great honour to be allowed to attempt something similar. Bring bucket, spade, swimwear and an open mind.” The first acts for the festival will be announced shortly.

The first of the revived weekenders – Nightmare Before Christmas 2.0, curated by Turner Prize-nominated artists Jake and Dinos Chapman – takes place this November, with Blanck Mass, Courtney Barnett, The Notwist, Viet Cong and Ought amongst others.

Tickets for ATP 2.0 are on-sale now; Lee's new live show A Room With A Stew is at the Assembly Rooms during the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe from 8-16 and 18-30 August.
