Optimo's JG Wilkes added to SFTOC bill

Sounds from the Other City festival announce afterparty magic with Optimo's JG Wilkes, while Horsebeach, David Nance, Simon Joyner and Lee Southall are also added to the line-up

JG Wilkes – one half of Glaswegian discotheque power-duo Optimo – will be making a stop in Salford this April for Sounds from the Other City festival, taking to the Night Fantasy stage at the Old Pint Pot for the mother of all afterparties.

Having long held a rep for programming that keeps us playing into the small hours, SFTOC is famous for its hallowed nightlife, and with this year's site takeover 'Sound of the New Dawn' promising dark rumblings, supernatural happenings and unearthly experiences, the stage seems very much set for the twisted, leftfield disco stylings that Optimo are known for.

The afterparties will, of course, be preceded by a day packed full of live sets from some of the best rising acts from across the country, and a host of new names have recently been added to the festival line-up including ex-The Coral guitarist Lee Southall, local favourites Horsebeach, Omaha's David Nance and American singer-songwriter Simon Joyner.

This year, The Skinny are also teaming up with SFTOC for a new project, in which you become the eyes and ears of the event... You can find out more about that here.

In the meantime, check out the full line-up here, and remind yourself of last year's festival with our galleries here.
