Howlin' Fling! takes place on Eigg – home to label boss Johnny Lynch, aka The Pictish Trail – on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 July. Announcing this year's Howlin' Fling!, Lynch described the 2016 festival as "a more intimate – if no less fun  party ahead of a fatter, plumper, juicier showstopper in 2017." In common with many of the label's events, the line-up is a secret for now, with details to be announced at a later date.

The inaugural Howlin' Fling! in 2014 featured sets from Steve Mason, RM Hubbert, The Phantom Band and Beth Orton, alongside Lost Map's own Kid Canaveral, Randolph's Leap, Monoganon, Rozi Plain, eagleowl, and Tuff Love. Last August, the label hosted Howlin' Fringe!, a one-dayer featuring sets from a host of Lost Map members at Penicuik Town Hall.

Howlin' Fling 2016 is on 1 & 2 July on the isle of Eigg; tickets go on sale at midday on 10 February via lostmap.com.
