Festival No. 6 announces first acts for 2016

The first acts for this year's Festival No. 6 in Portmeirion in North Wales have been announced.

Among the first waves of confirmed bands for the festival are art-rockers Django Django, Mercury-nominated multi-instrumentalist C Duncan, hip-hop royalty Roots Manuva and indie veterans Echo and the Bunnymen. 

In the electronic line-up, Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston present their Love from Outer Space night, Glasgow duo Optimo play an Until the Music Stops set, and there are sets from Fleetmac Wood, Joy Orbison and BBC 6 Music's Craig Charles.

Elsewhere, Festival No. 6 composer-in-residence Joe Duddell joins forces with the Manchester Camerata orchestra for David Bowie Reimagined, a set of re-arranged Bowie classics with a host of guest vocalists, while The Nest Collective present a folk stage led by This Is The Kit. The 2016 festival is headlined by Noel Gallagher, Bastille and Hot Chip.

Festival No. 6 runs from 1-4 Sept at Portmeirion, North Wales.
