Brian Wilson heading to Edinburgh Summer Sessions

The former Beach Boy is doing a Pet Sounds show, and he’s joined in another headline slot by indie-rockers Bastille

The inaugural Edinburgh Summer Sessions, a series of gigs taking over the city’s Princes Street Gardens during August, is starting to heat up, with Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson added to the bill. Wilson will be in town on 19 August alongside his former bandmates Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin for a performance of Pet Sounds, their 1966 masterpiece that sounds as fresh and dynamic as it did five decades ago.

Also announced today in a headline slot are radio-friendly indie rockers Bastille, who’ll be joined in support by the rambunctious indie-rock of The Vaccines on 9 August. The festival’s Princes Street Gardens stage will also include shows from Into The Ark (6 Aug), Grace Carter and The LaFontaines (both 14 Aug).

These acts join the already revealed motley crew of Sir Tom Jones, Rag’N’Bone Man, Paloma Faith and Kasabian. Truly, something for everyone.
