The first wave of artists to join horror legend John Carpenter at next year’s ATP Iceland festival have been announced.

Among the names added to the line-up for the 2016 edition of the festival – which takes place at Ásbrú, Iceland from 1 to 3 July 2016 – are St Louis-born songwriter Angel Olsen, California psych rockers Thee Oh Sees, and Chicago post-rock quintet (and previous All Tomorrow's Parties curators) Tortoise.

Also set to play ATP Iceland are garage rocker Ty Segall, reunited stoner rock trio Sleep, and Sacred Bones signings Blanck Mass and Destruction Unit.

Comedian Stewart Lee has also been added to the ATP Iceland line-up – Lee is curating an ATP weekender at the festival's new UK home in Prestatyn, North Wales from 15-17 April 2016, with Sleaford Mods, The Ex, Boredoms and The Necks all on the bill.

In addition to the Iceland and Stewart Lee weekenders, ATP have also announced a second spring weekender headlined and curated by post-hardcore legends Drive Like Jehu, which will run from 22-24 April. The first of the ATP 2.0 weekenders at Pontin's, Prestatyn takes place later this month, curated by Turner Prize-nominated artists Jake and Dinos Chapman.

ATP Iceland takes place at Ásbrú, Iceland, 1-3 July 2016; full line-up details are below.
