Tequila Mockingbird

A series of comic ""experiments"" into the nature of success are entertaining but not enlightening

Success in life, success in love, success in the workplace – we all strive to achieve it. What if obtaining this elusive goal was simply a matter of following a scientific formula? Wouldn’t we all be queuing up to find out what it was?

Contrary to what the name might suggest, this production has very little to do with the Harper Lee novel, save for one small reference to a tequila cocktail. Instead we are thrust into a comic exploration which attempts to unearth the secret to success.

A series of “scientific” - and frequently hilarious - experiments are carried out by the cast, to try and determine exactly which personality traits will come out on top when competing with one another. There are moments when the pace lags a little, yet as a series of quirky, comic sketches unfold, Tequila Mockingbird reveals a cast that is both enthusiastic and deeply likable.

This show does not claim to deal with southern race relations, nor does it pretend to offer us anything particularly ground breaking in terms of comedy. However, what it does offer is a good solid hour’s entertainment, one which is almost sure leave you smiling.
