SkinnyFest 3 - Jim Jeffries - The Second Coming

he has a gift for being extremely offensive and getting away with it

Feature by Xavier Toby | 14 Aug 2006

With less of a theme than his 2004 Fringe offering Porno, this time around Jeffries runs through mostly unconnected material and anecdotes: some new, some old, but all very funny. Jeffries is pushing the boundaries of taste even further with this show, but as a performer he remains extremely likeable. The inventive perspective from which he examines most topics places him in great positions to poke fun, and he has a gift for being extremely offensive and getting away with it. Highlights include his material about terrorism at the start of the show, a story about how his father dealt with a paedophilic Scout Leader, and Jeffries' own court appearance after being robbed at knife-point. Other material was more offensive but also weaker. In fact, if you are easily offended this might be one to avoid. If you don't take yourself too seriously, go along and marvel at how Jeffries gets away with it.
