This (adopting the haughty voice of one who has recently lost touch with youth culture) is the latest ‘big thing’ in quirky twists on the  drink-loads-and-dance-like-a-loony club scene. The premise: plonk 1000 of the young and the beautiful in Edinburgh’s majestic McEwan Hall, give them all a set of headphones, spin some serious beats into their grateful ears and wait for them to party away in the silence. There are Disco and Rave DJs performing, as well as live interactive visual shows and a lounge for more the more chilled moments of revelry. Silent Disco has already stormed such events as Glastonbury and T in the Park this year and the £10 tickets are sure to be in huge demand, so get your glad rags and dancing shoes on and head down early to avoid disappointment. Best leave the corny chat up lines at home though.
