Indie veterans Maximo Park – whose frontman Paul Smith released his second solo album in August – headline the party’s Waverley stage, while fast-rising Glasgow five-piece WHITE will follow up their headlining appearance at this month’s Tenement Trail festival with their first Street Party set in support of Smith and co.

Elsewhere on the bill are punk duo Slaves, folk-rockers Shooglenifty and Glasgow folk ensemble Rura, as well as a Funk and Soul Classics DJ set from BBC Radio 6’s Craig Charles. The Street Party runs alongside the previously announced Hogmanay concert at Princes Street Gardens, headlined by Biffy Clyro with support from Idlewild and Honeyblood.

Organisers have also confirmed that the free one-day Scot:Lands art festival will return on New Year’s Day 2016 – the 2015 edition featured contributions from King Creosote, Neu! Reekie and Withered Hand, with this year's line-up to be announced in November.

Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Street Party takes place in central Edinburgh on 31 December; tickets are on-sale now.
