Bold Souls: Off The Catwalk – Summer Preview

It's March, spring is in the air, and we want to shed those thick knit layers of winter! There's no better way to get in the mood than to head along to one of Glasgow's most loved fashion events, Bold Souls: Off The Catwalk, this time popping up for their official summer preview.

On Thursday 13 March the fashion showcase returns to Hummingbird on Bath Street, which will play host to three floors packed with award-winning Scottish designers and labels showing their work. There will be both a ticketed catwalk show (kicking off at 7.30pm) and a pop-up boutique shop with an open doors policy that will run from 5.30pm-9pm.

The Bold Souls: Off The Catwalk events are well-known for their forward-thinking approach to fashion – championing local up-and-coming talent whilst making high-end and handmade pieces easily accessible to the public. Off The Catwalk gives attendees a unique shopping experience, where they can meet and talk with the designers, try on items and find out more about the way they are made and the inspiration behind them before they buy. An extremely appealing aspect of the event is that you can spot something on the catwalk and buy it straight away, and from the very designer that made it, no less.

This time local favourite Chouchou will be joined by Scotland Re:Designed New Talent shortlisted Naromode, Scottish Fashion Awards-winner Joanne McGillivray, Vanilla Ink alumni jeweller Scarlett Erskine, as well as jeweller Ebba Gorring, Danni McWilliams, Spoiled Brat, Rock and Royalty Couture and Birds of Paradise.

Praising those involved in the event, fashion designer and organiser of Bold Souls, Silvia Pellegrino (of Chouchou) says: "What makes Bold Souls so unique is the people. On the one hand the creatives are the real engine of the show, but also everyone who supports it, writes and blogs about it. Our wish is that all people who are involved in our events always feel like they're part of a vibrant community and that they have the opportunity to learn, grow and be inspired!”

There are a limited number of tickets available for the fashion show (priced at £10, available online), which include a drink (Kopparberg) and a nibble (a mini burger) on arrival, plus a goodie bag and, of course, a look at the latest collections of some of Scotland's most well-known and respected designers.
