This year Fashion’s Night Out, hosted by Vogue, is leaving the capital and moving up north to Manchester – a city renowned for its spirit of imagination and enterprise. Once at the centre of the UK’s textile industry and therefore playing a key role in fashion, Manchester is the prefect location choice for this year’s prestigious event. With the success of the night in London over the past four years, a change of scenery and a new audience is a fantastic way to celebrate its milestone 5th year.

The aim of Fashion’s Night Out is to bring shoppers and retailers together for a fun-filled night in celebration of all things fashion. The night will take place at various locations throughout the city of Manchester on the evening of 10 October. As it is a non-ticked event, everyone is welcome to come along and join in with the festivities.

With Harvey Nichols and Selfridges on board, Manchester’s Exchange Square will be at the heart of the night’s events. Spinningfields will also have lots to offer with their parade of designer boutiques and upmarket cuisine. The city’s Chinatown will be holding a catwalk show, amongst other events, in honour of Asian style, reflecting Manchester’s diversity of culture.

With fashion giants Burberry, Emporio Armani and Chanel joining the prestigious line-up of designers and retailers participating on the night, it is sure to be a glamorous affair. Leading festivities in the Arndale Shopping Centre are high-street greats Topshop, River Island and Office providing entertainment throughout the night.

By partnering with such a vast range of designers and retailers, Vogue are set to create the most thrilling shopping experience of the year, just in time for the party season! Beauty brands will also be on hand, giving tips and tricks on creating the perfect look.

Along with the fashion retailers, many of Manchester’s art galleries, restaurants and museums will be opening their doors late on the night to join in with the celebrations.

This year’s event will be in aid of charity Save the Children, as chosen by Vogue Editor Alexandra Shulman for their exceptional work within the UK and internationally. Custom Fashion’s Night Out t-shirts will be widely available from different outlets on the night with proceeds going towards the chosen charity.

The streets of Manchester will be buzzing with activity as many high-end brands offer exciting in-store events, including live music and DJs. Champagne will be flowing and delicious food available from an array of stalls lining the streets courtesy of Vogue Eats. Popular events on the night are likely to be the t-shirt customising workshop with designer Roksanda Ilincic, Nadine Merabi’s bowling alley catwalk show and Matthew Williamson’s meet and greet in Fannels.

Fashion’s Night Out 2013 will be a night to dress up, go out and support the fashion industry.
