Edinburgh College of Art student Melissa Villevielle has won the Womenswear Collection of the Year award at this year’s Graduate Fashion Week in London.

Villevielle saw off competition from over 1,000 graduates from across the UK and beyond, and was also awarded GFW’s Catwalk Textiles Award and David Band Textiles Prize. Fellow ECA student Eleanor Paulin was a runner-up in the Best Portfolio category, while Rachael Eustace was awarded second place in the Sophie Hallette Lace Challenge.

Work from Villevielle, Paulin and Eustace featured in our showcase of the best of this year's ECA Fashion Show – take a look at our shoot here.

Mal Burkinshaw, the Director of ECA’s Fashion programme, said: “I am absolutely delighted with this year’s successes at GFW. Melissa’s collection demonstrates the outstanding craftsmanship fused with modernity and personality that all our students are encouraged to develop on the programme.”

Graduate Fashion Week ran from Saturday 30 May to Sunday 2 June 2015, at the Truman Brewery in East London.
