It’s been five years since the brilliant Limmy’s Show last aired, and it doesn’t look like it’ll be returning to BBC Scotland any time soon. “After these live shows, that's it,” Limmy (aka Brian Limond) told Digital Spy last year. In fact, it doesn't look like we’ll be seeing any Limmy vehicle on the BBC Scotland in the near future.

“I've written sitcom pilots after Limmy's Show,” he said. “I thought I'd stop the sketches and quick ideas. So I wrote a pilot and it got knocked back. I wrote another pilot and it got knocked back. And then I thought, 'F**k it, I'll do Falconhoof, that's safe'. That's a character that people know.”

Unfortunately for everyone, his Falconhoof pitch was knocked back too. “BBC Scotland said no. The reasons that they gave was that they thought it was too 'wordy'.”

Not deterred, the Glasgow-based comedian has decided to go out on his own. He recently announced on Twitter that he’s planning new sketch show Limmy's Homemade Show and he’s looking for backing from fans to make it happen.

Launching the project on crowdfunding site Patreon, Limmy pitched the show to potential supporters thus: “Have you ever seen my homemade videos like Requiem or The Birthday Card or my Vines or the one about a dildo in Thatcher's dead arse? I'd like to do a half hour episode of homemade things like that every month. And I'd love you to back me.”

The shows will be released down the line for free on YouTube, but those who contribute to the crowdfunding will get access to the show first.

Limmy has nearly 850 patrons so far. If you’d like to sign up to help him get the show off the ground, head across to patreon.com/Limmy to find out more.
