The pager is making a comeback. Who’d have thunk it? The rubbish version of the mobile phone once reserved for on-call doctors and jannies has been resounding across dancefloors nationwide thanks to the very literal use of sound effects in this new offering from The Count and Sinden. Chances are you will already have encountered the ringing of the beeper (beeper beeper beeper), which has been receiving a regular turntable hammering for months. It has undergone something of a revamp for this release on Domino with new vocals provided by Kid Sister. It's hard to know whether this is a quirky and charming homage to UK garage or something more akin to the crazy frog. Either way, brace yourselves. Resistance is futile. [Emma Kilday]
