Great to see a residents night so full so early in the year

Article by Bram Gieben | 15 Feb 2006
Obscene's January party finally bucked the trend of quiet nights at Edinburgh's regular clubs, signalling an upswing from the post-new year calm into what could well be a rocking 2006. The club filled slowly, but by 1am the dancefloor was full for resident Marc EP's set of rolling, liquid funk, with new resident Dave Lowe dropping Pendulum's Voodoo People remix to the crowd's delight. The residents chopped and changed, swapping decks at regular intervals while MC IB kept things moving with his easy vibes and rhythmic patter. Split's Monterey Jack stepped things up a notch, playing some darker, more tech-y tracks, while in the cooler, Anemate and DJ DeBurgh rolled out some classic grime. Klee treated us to a set of dark electro and techno. Great to see a residents night so full so early in the year – credit is due once again to Obscene's fantastic resident crew and loyal crowd.
