Wicked mix of old skool hip-hop infused with soul, reggae, jazz and dirty funk

Album title: '3 Foot High and Rising'
Artist: Freddie Cruger Presents 3 Foot High Peoples
Label: Homegrown
Freddie Cruger under his new alias 3 Foot High Peoples brings us a first instalment of soulful righteousness. Cruger, better known for his understated dub and reggae singles on Gamm (as Red Astaire), Jugglin and Swedish Brandy does not disappoint with this album. Fans of Cruger's wicked mix of old skool hip-hop infused with soul, reggae, jazz and dirty funk will be more than satisfied although this offering favours a more downtempo selection of dusty, instrumental beats which keeps the vibe laid-back in part, with Tracks Reach Out and Le Market hitting the spot. The pace reaches its crescendo with tracks On My Way Feat. Linn and Clappers Power which are guaranteed floor fillers. 3 Foot High Peoples' artwork is also worth a mention, with a cool and beautifully designed sleeve from fellow Swede Marcell, a great compliment to an album of soulful, funky goodness.
