To celebrate the launch of their third EP on the Firecracker label, this night aims to explode onto the scene and showcase some of the new material and past creations that the Edinburgh-based Firecracker collective (including the Linkwood Family, Fudge Fingers, The Moore Brothers, The Complainers and Mr Todd) have been working on. This includes a 3-hour set involving mpc, live keys, effects units and live beat manipulation. In addition to this they will be providing specially constructed rhythm tracks to sit alongside a seriously banging DJ set, covering all their major influences and providing the finest heavyweight selections of house, techno, disco, ska, funk, hip-hop and electronica in an all-out amalgamation of styles and sounds. Over the years the Firecracker crew have - in one guise or another - played all over the world, including regular spots at Glastonbury Festival, and various events in Tokyo, Africa, and London. This is the first night that this talented collective will be performing as a unit. It promises to be a genuine celebration of their love for music in all its forms and a chance to expose the many tracks that they have been working on over the last 8 years. With live visuals, film and an exhibition from the Edinburgh College of Art, this night looks likely to stimulate all the senses, so get your ass down there and shake it!
