Monox, many Glaswegian's dirty techno dealer of choice, is once again dishing out the bad stuff at the Soundhaus. This time it's MANASYt and Dave Tarrida cooking up the heavy electronic highs for us on their live PA. MANASYt is launching his Tales of Ignorance album. His will be a name known to some of the regulars, and especially those who DJ. You'll certainly have heard his dark and dangerous sounds spun before, and his was one of the best tracks on Dave Clarke's World Service 2. You'll have probably heard of Tarrida too; he comes from all the way across the country in Edinburgh, where he was a founding member of Sativa. In 1994 he began the label Sativae Recordings with Steve Glencross, releasing the likes of Landstrumm and Adam X, among others. Featured on the Tresor Test EP and behind so much of the techno happening in Edinburgh in the nineties, you know this guy knows his stuff. Tarrida helped shape dancing in Scotland - his home club even warrants a mention in one of Irvine Welsh's better novels, Maribou Stork Nightmares- and he's playing live techno on the same night as one of the fiercer, darker producers in the genre. This looks set to be a great night for any friends of sequencer. [James Blake]
