Clubs in Glasgow

Haven Gets Burst @ La Cheetah, 6 Apr
For Haven's next instalment they've invited Edinburgh night Burst through for a party – expect back-to-back nonsense galore and a night filled with nothing but dark and heavy techno.

Counterflows Social @ CCA Saramago, 7 Apr
Counterflows are hosting four late night socials this year, the second of which will take place at CCA's Saramago Bar (the downstairs foyer bit of CCA, in case you were wondering). This night will host live sets from Helsinki trio Olympia Splendid and Glasgow punk outfit Anxiety, with what promises to be an energetic DJ set from Rebecca Marshall (SO LOW).

Subculture w/ KiNK (live) @ Sub Club, 8 Apr
Recently dubbed as Resident Advisor’s top live act in the world for a second consecutive year, Bulgarian house and techno producer KiNK brings his live show to Glasgow this weekend as part of the 30 years of Sub Club celebrations. Advance tickets are sold out for this, but good ol' Subbie have kept 100 tickets back to sell on the door so if you don't already have a ticket, get down early to avoid disappointment.

Clubs in Edinburgh

The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club @ La Belle Angèle, 7 Apr
Following his appearance at Groove Cairngorm festival in February, Craig Charles is back in Scotland with his trunk of funk (and soul). Catch him this Friday at La Belle Angèle with Newcastle soul duo Smoove and Turrell and Glasgow funksters Shaka Loves You.

Crème Fresh with Kornél Kovács @ The Mash House, 8 Apr
One third of the Studio Barnhus label, Swedish producer Kornél Kovács made quite the impression with his debut record The Bells, which was released in August last year and wound up on many end of the year best-of lists. He makes his Edinburgh debut at the Mash House with support from the Crème Fresh residents.

TEESH @ Sneaky Pete's, 8 Apr
As ever TEESH promise to serve up another calorific all you can eat mind buffet at their 45th edition this April featuring DJ Cheers and DJ Equipment. Read our interview with TEESH residents here

Clubs in Dundee

Headway with Jeremy Underground @ The Reading Rooms, 7 Apr
DJ Jeremy Fichon, aka Jeremy Underground, is a celebrated crate-digger and champion of the good ol' days of house music. After ripping it up with a recent Sub Club show, the French selector now makes his Dundee debut with support from Andy Barton, Graeme Binnie and Neil Clark.

Festival Watch

ICYMI, festival season is just around the corner and a good place to start is with The Skinny's round up of Europe's best dance music parties for 2017. And if you're still undecided, here are a few extra options:

This year's Sónar Barcelona, held from 15-17 Jun, will please sun-worshippers and features a characteristically diverse line-up including Daphni & Hunee, Denis Sulta, DJ Shadow, Jon Hopkins, Moderat, Nicolas Jaar, Nina Kraviz, Optimo and many more (from €180). Enter our competition to win tickets here.

The 21st edition of Garorock Festival in the lush setting of rural Marmande in France takes place from 30 Jun-2 Jul. The rock, urban and electronic festival will host a strong dance music line-up this year, including Tale Of Us, Sam Paganini, Pan-Pot, and Jennifer Cardini, alongside the likes of Phoenix, Foals, MIA, London Grammar and Beth Ditto (from €120).

If you fancy a slightly more exotic clubbing experience, Oasis Festival returns to Marrakech from 15-17 Sep. Held at The Source Music Resort, you can enjoy the champagne bar, henna tattooing, yoga, swimming and live painting to tunes from Maceo Plex, Karenn (live), Charlotte de Witte, Henrik Schwarz, and Richie Hawtin (from €159).
