Brooklyn & Beyond (slight name change) return to Soup Kitchen on 7 May, this time inviting the secretsundaze curator and resident DJ of what is arguably Europe’s most distinct party in underground electronic music, James Priestley. With a reputation for using risqué, off-the-cuff venues, secretsundaze has welcomed some of the world’s most renowned djs and producers with the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Four Tet, Dixon and Derrick May all appearing over the years. His style hasn’t gone unnoticed and he regularly plays some of the best clubs and parties around the world (£6 OTD).

Next day, you've got Selective Hearing and Project 13 joining forces for a series of intimate warehouse parties, bringing a selection of our favourite labels with them. It's the second event in a three-part trilogy, taking place on 8 May, and showcases Bristol based imprint Livity Sound – featuring Peverelist, Kowton and Asusu playing b2b with special guest Tessela (£10-12). Meanwhile, in Liverpool, Ben Sims is on at the now-established 24 Kitchen St and is sure to provide plenty of heavy duty tackle for the occasion (£8-15).

Day after that – Sat 9 May – the meandyou clan let Sean Canty man the ship underneath Soup Kitchen, with support from Herron and Andrew Lyster (£5-7). There's also a pretty tantalising prospect over on Merseyside on the same night as Andy Hart flies in from Down Under to the Constellations stage. Apparently the outside bar will be open too, a winner for all you fans of air out there – super fresh (£7).

The following weekend you've got DJ Sprinkles at the Roadhouse on Fri 15 May, another booking that deserves as much aplomb as you can be arsed to give it (£10-12). It's one of the last top nights at the Roadhouse, too, which makes attendance all the more important. Elsewhere on the same night, Belgian boogie magnates The Glimmers – said to be Poirot's favourite disco act – get down in Josh Brooks (£6).

Huge lineup at Camp & Furnace on Fri 22 May as The Wizard himself Jeff Mills joins Blawan to deal out more pounding kicks than a pissed-off zebra (£8-10). Not much else to say on that one apart from go. What else... oh yeah, the day after on 23 May there's a neat little shindig going down at the Angel Pub in the day – the Ensemble Market Party, with record stalls, arts, crafts, live art and a BBQ. Then, at night, the gathering shifts to Islington Mill and is expected to carry on til the extremely wee hours of Sunday morning – could be worth a punt (£7).

On 23 May you've also got the Young Turks takeover in the Bombed Out Church in 'pool, featuring Jamie XX, John Talabot and others. Again it's an all day, all night kind of deal which partly justifies the whopping £30 price tag; but hey, how many times do you live once?

It's also a bank holiday that weekend – fuck yeah! – so you might be tempted by the selection of nights on the Sunday. This includes LIES favourite Beau Wanzer at the Roadhouse for £10, decent value if you're into the lo-fi clangings that permeate his sound. There's a distinctly French feel going on at South as the legendary Point G and Varoslav take over proceedings; soak up a bit of dance culture for £15. Orrrr, and this is a good option too, Nils Frahm brings his EPIC live show to Albert Hall which is guarenteed to be off the charts in terms of emotion. It's also a chance to witness a nice-looking, mid-European lad drench his plain grey T-shirt in a fit of musical virtuosity. That said, it is £22 – though still very much worth every penny.

By the end of the month things are still going strong, particularly with Dense & Pika at Josh Brooks on Fri 29 May (£6-10). The following day in Liverpool sees Nina Kraviz and Enzo Siragusa on shift as part of the 48 hours in Liverpool party at New Bird Street Warehouse (£15).

And that's your lot for now. It's shaping up to be one helluva month. Still though, keep your peepers peeled for annoucements as there's seriously a shitload of options to choose over the next four weeks. Keep it classy and don't do anything that your nan probably wouldn't do.
