Halloween clubs in Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester

Preview by The Skinny North | 28 Oct 2016

We interrupt our normal broadcast – er, weekly clubs roundups – to bring you this spooky special, selecting only the finest Halloween parties in Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester for our big soupy cauldron.

Coded Rhythm Halloween
Hidden, Manchester, 28 Oct, 10pm, £12

Get your fright on with two rooms of very nasty bass courtesy of Boddika (with Bhrisc and Mimic) and the Coded Rhythm DJs digging up grime, garage and jungle in The Den. Altogether now: Why they hide their bodies under my garage?

Shogun Audio Halloween special
Canal Mills, Leeds, 28 Oct, 10pm, £15/£17.50

Leeds also gets a night of mucky drum'n'bass courtesy of the Shogun Audio label, with Friction, The Prototypes, Spectrasoul and more on the line-up, plus special guest Culture Shock.

Day of the Dead
Islington Mill, Salford, 29 Oct, 7pm ('til 3am), £10

One Tree Producing presents Day of the Dead, a celebration of the lives of our nearest and dearest who have sadly passed, combining music, dance and theatricals with food from Stomping Grounds – plus a gig from ten-piece afro-tropical-funk band Drymbago.

Hidden Halloween
Hidden, Manchester, 29 Oct, 10pm, £20/£25

Romanian techno artist Rhadoo plays an extended three-hour set in the Blue Room, while in The Den you've got yer Wet Play Pals out in force: Ruf Dug, Pidge, Randy Marsh, Ste Spandex and Swayward.

Back to Basics: Back in Black Halloween party
Church, Leeds, 29 Oct, 10pm, £18

Basics' own Ralph Lawson supports house legend Louie Vega at Leeds' most unholy venue, Church on Woodhouse Lane. Yes, it is a church.

Hot Plate Halloween special
24 Kitchen Street, Liverpool, 29 Oct, 7pm, £10

Kitchen Street's in-house promoters prepare for the witching hour with one of rap's most elusive figures, Casisdead, whose "unique take on a cold, harsh, drug-fuelled reality has been gaining him an increasing stream of plaudits from across the industry and beyond" – plus support from Aystar and Suedebrown.

Church presents Halloween
Church, Leeds, 31 Oct, 11pm, £12

Just because Halloween falls on a Monday doesn't mean you shouldn't party – if anything, the frightful first day of the week is more deserving of a full-on 'Night of Horrors'. The Church crew are promising a themed building and special guest to reward your fancy dress efforts.

Dead Legends
The Old Red Bus Station, Leeds, 1 Nov, 7pm, free

Brush the cobwebs off the Halloween weekend with one final blowout, as The Old Red Bus Station throw a bash to celebrate all the dead ledges out there: Prince, Elvis, Michael Jackson, Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Joy Division, Tupac, Biggie, Freddie Mercury and more.
