La Cheetah Club x Kunst: Veronica Vasicka (Minimal Wave) @ La Cheetah Club, Fri 10 Feb

Fans of the NYC-based Minimal Wave imprint can catch Veronica Vasicka in action this Friday, when Kunst bring the Minimal Wave/Cititrax label boss to our shores for their first show of 2017. Whether unearthing and reissuing lost and forgotten electronic music inspired by new wave, disco, post punk and cassette material from the 80s, or unveiling a host of dancefloor-focused tracks, Vasicka has a truly exciting and very unique ear. Dom D'Sylva and Kris Bell will be on warm up duties, so expect quality tunes from start to finish (£10+bf).

P.O.W Presents Rebecca Vasmant & Natasha Kitty Katt @ The Poetry Club, Fri 10 Feb

Glasgow jazz selector Rebecca Vasmant and Edinburgh-born soul aficianado Natasha Kitty Katt Probert have teamed up for a new monthly residency at The Poetry Club at SWG3, which kicks off this Friday. They'll be inviting friends to drop in and share the turntables for future events, with the feel-good vibes reflected in their motto: "A place to cut loose, and be whatever you want. Everyone welcome" (£5 OTD).

I AM – Denis Sulta @ Sub Club, Tue 14 Feb

Ditch the Hallmark cards and cheesy dinner dates – true love is found on the dancefloor, people. Sulta, the man behind the ever-popular Sulta Sheikh Down and Sulta Selects party brands, gives us a good reason to head out this Valentine’s Day, with support from Beta & Kappa.

Festival Watch

Dreary February weather got you dreaming of far-away places? If you're after salt, sea and sunshine, Annie Mac's Lost & Found Festival looks a very good shout. Happening in Malta over the Easter weekend (13-16 April), the event will star The Black Madonna, Armand Van Helden, J.E.S.U.S (Jackmaster, Eats Everything, Seth Troxler and Skream) and too many more to mention, plus boat parties, pool parties and castle raves.

At the other end of the temperature spectrum, the lineup for Austria's Snowbombing Festival – "8,497 ft above the ordinary" – is immense. Held from 3-8 April, it features Elrow's The Bronx Street Party, Groove Armada, Dixon, Hot Since 82, Eats Everything, and many more, including our own Denis Sulta and Theo Kottis.

If you're after something a bit closer to home, Groove Cairngorm, the UK’s first and only snowsports festival, is on 24-26 February this year. This fabulous, well-organised festival is perfectly sized, with no queues, good music, and lovely people. Spend the day on the slopes at the Cairngorm Mountains before joining the apres-ski set with world class artists and DJs including the inimitable Basement Jaxx, Mike Skinner (DJ set), and Horse Meat Disco.
