Thunder Disco 7th Birthday Bonanza with Horse Meat Disco @ Sub Club, Fri 25 Nov

From their humble beginnings back at the unlikely and disused venue The Lite Club, Thunder Disco have come a long way, with their illustrious and diverse string of guests over the years including Ben UFO, Floating Points, Paranoid London, Bicep, Mr. G, Todd Terje, Auntie Flo and Maurice Fulton.

They're celebrating seven action packed years in the game with a knees-up this weekend fronted by party legends Horse Meat Disco. Ahead of the event, we sat down with Rory Hamilton and James Sutherland, the duo behind the night, to look back on where it all began.

Subculture with Andrew Weatherall @ Sub Club, Sat 26 Nov

Back in Subbie on Saturday night, for none other than Mr Andrew Weatherall himself. The Subculture crew sum it up thus: "What is there to say about this man that hasn't been said already? Weatherall has remained ever influential on the circuit consistently year in year out, never afraid to experiment and introduce a crowd to some of the most exciting music they might have never otherwise come across". Tickets have been rightfully snapped up online, but there will be 50 tickets on the door if you fancy trying your luck on the night.

I AM – Midland @ Sub Club, Tue 29 Nov

Well worth venturing out on a Tuesday night for is Midland's school-night Sub Club show. A multifarious DJ and producer, Harry Agius has consistently reinvented and pushed the boundaries of house music, with forays into everything from techno to disco to electropop. Since his beginnings in 2010, Midland's production style has consistently evolved from one record to the next, and his skills in the both are just as well-honed and wide-ranging, having delivered floor-filling sets at the likes of Panorama Bar, Trouw and Fabric (£8 + bf).

Book Ahead...

With New Year's Eve just over a month away, it's time to start considering your end-of-year party options. In Glasgow, The Art School will be bringing in the New Year with the inimitable Jon Hopkins in the main room, plus Nathan Fake, Nightwave, Konx-om-Pax and more (£23.50 + bf), while Subculture rings in 2017 at Sub Club with a six-hour long danceathon featuring Gerd Janson, Jackmaster and Harri & Domenic (£29.50 +bf). La Cheetah will also run from 10pm-4am with Chicago disco don Rahaan, alongside Swiss crate digger Sassy J, Randomer, Spencer, Dom D'Sylva and more (£20 + bf).
