Cyril Hahn @ The Liquid Room, Fri 7 Oct

Swiss-born Cyril Hahn brings his guilty-pleasure brand of house music to the capital this Friday, with support from regulars Gav Miller and Khalid Hussain. Hahn came to mainstream attention in 2013 with his rework of the Destiny's Child track Say My Name. He's also remixed the likes of Solange, Jessie Ware, Haim and Sigur Ros. Aside from his smooth, sultry RnB edits, the Vancouver-based artist has also turned his hand to production, with a number of original single releases and his 2014 EP Voices.

Karnival – Mobilee #LetGo with Anja Schneider + Rodriguez Jr. (Live) @ La Belle Angele, Fri 7 Oct

Karnival welcomes Mobilee Records to the capital for an exclusive #LETGO showcase this Friday.

Mobilee Records launched in 2005 and quickly established itself as one of the brightest new stars within Berlin’s galaxy of electronic music labels, producers and DJs. Founded and owned by Anja Schneider & Ralf Kollmman, the label boasts a sound that is simultaneously familiar and innovative. Label boss Schneider has played world-renowned clubs Amnesia, Harry Klein, Fabric, Fuse, Rex, Panorama Bar, Goa Madrid, and Womb in Tokyo, and also holds down residencies at Berlin’s Weekend and Watergate clubs.

Joining her on the night is live talent Rodriguez Jr, better known as Oliver Mateu, one half of French electro act The Youngsters.

Halloween is nearly upon us, which means party options aplenty as Scotland's venues seek to outdo each other with the best sonic spookfest. In Edinburgh, choose from Nightvision's Halloween at La Belle Angele, which features German duo Pan-Pot plus Neil Landstrumm and Laurie Neil (28 Oct, £20 + bf); or a Saturday night Karnival party at the venue the following night with Berghain resident & Terminal M label boss Monika Kruse. Fancy dress is actively encouraged for this one, and there will be a raft of prizes for those who make the most effort! (29 Oct, £10 + bf).

On Halloween proper, there's also Sulta Sheik Down Halloween at The Caves, led by Glaswegian shining star Denis Sulta with further guests to be announced (31 Oct, £10 + bf). If you're eager to venture further afield, Let It Bleed Halloween moves to the brand new, subterranean splendour of Unit 51 in Aberdeen this year. The immense lineup of Artwork, Theo Kottis, Rondevu, IDA, Yungruzt, FiveThirty and Hampton Live is bound to be a drawcard, and "horrorshow outfits" are encouraged (29 Oct, 315 + bf, tickets here).
