10 Years of Substance @ The Bongo Club, Fri 28 Oct

An all-action line-up (and late licence) for the tenth birthday of the Bongo night. Stingray made his name as the DJ for the legendary Drexciya before moving into production, both as a solo artist and as collaborator with the likes of Gerald Donald and Urban Tribe, which counts Carl Craig, Anthony 'Shake' Shakir and Kenny Dixon Jr (Moodymann) as members.

Joining him for Substance's 10th birthday party is John Heckle, who debuts his classic live techno hardware in Edinburgh. Remodulate is the new project of residents Gavin Richardson and Patrick Walker (Forward Strategy Group) and they'll debut their first ever live show, ahead of their forthcoming TSAR release. Some surprise sets are also in store, and there's a specially imported soundsystem on hand to make the most of the 5am licence.

Onloop Hosted by Moxie @ Sneaky Pete's, Fri 28 Oct

NTS Radio presenter and seasoned DJ Moxie kicks off a capital residency with Rinse FM's Josey Rebelle, who is a regular at some of the UK’s most respected nights – including Nonsense, Boiler Room (having played at the very first official Boiler Room broadcast back in 2010), Deviation, Rinse and Red Bull Music Academy – and has graced the line ups of clubs such as Fabric, XOYO and Berlin's Panorama Bar. There's also home-grown talent in the form of Telfort.

Hector's Tweak: All Hallow's Eve with Dan Shake @ Cabaret Voltaire, Mon 31 Oct

One of the few Halloween parties that isn't completely sold out, and one that is definitely worth a look, is Dan Shake's All Hallow's Eve night on Halloween proper. The first ever non-Detroit artist to be signed to Moodymann’s prestigious label Mahogani Music, the London-based Shake has been making his mark on dance-floors all over Europe, both with his distinctive productions and his expertise in working a crowd. Support from the ever reliable Gareth Sommerville and Kieran Apter.

Just Announced...

In their usual festive season tradition, Subculture have programmed a dynamite line up of acts at Sub Club this coming December. Dixon is the big name we've been waiting for, with a show on Saturday 3 December - tickets go on sale this Friday 28 October. Chicago legend Lil' Louis brings his prolific tour to the basement on 10 December, with support from Harri & Domenic, and the following week, Tama Sumo takes time out from her multitude of stellar residencies - most notably at Panaroma bar - to show off her skills in the booth on 17 December.
