Edinburgh Clubbing Highlights: 13-19 Jan

It's a quiet month for Edinburgh's clubs, but this weekend will still be bouncing to the tune of Overground's Acid Special, plus Randomer hits The Mash House and TEESH put on a 3D extravaganza at Sneaky Pete's

Overground's Acid Special 002 @ The Mash House, Fri 13 Jan

It's been a big 12 months for Edinburgh's Overground. Last March promoter James Wright kicked things off with an acid rave, marking the first offical Overground happening; since then the club night has gone from strength to strength, booking some of the best lo-fi raw house and techno acts around. To see in another year of their Mash House residency, Overground welcomes 2017 with another acid freak out – entry is a fiver, or £3 guesty if you post some acid on the Facebook event page (they'll even reward a few of the best ones with free entry).

Shapework with Randomer @ The Mash House, Sat 14 Jan

We're back at The Mash House again on the Saturday, this time for modern techno master Randomer. Few have a recent back catalogue as diverse as Randomer, who across a six-year career has produced records for the likes of Hemlock Recordings, Hessle Audio, Numbers and Clone; last year he also found the time to drop a collab EP with fellow techno-head Perc. As a DJ, Randomer is 'one of the UK’s finest, capable of effortlessly stitching together modern bass with classic techno and less esoteric 4/4 rhythms'. (£7+bf)

TEESH – All You Can Eat Mind Buffet/3D World Club @ Sneaky Pete's, Sat 14 Jan

This January TEESH are creating various immersive 3D club experiences, with 3D glasses, artworks, projections and more in store. DJ Cheers will be captaining the 'All You Can Eat Mind Buffet' through afro, cosmic disco, soul, funk, boogie, hip hop and house, while Semi Deluxe will be showing of the skills he's honed via London residencies at The Pickle Factory and Oslo Hackney. Ahead of the event The Skinny spoke to the TEESH lads themselves to learn more about their unique bi-monthly resident parties.
