Club nights in Manchester this week (7-14 Jul)

Manchester's good eggs are everywhere this week: Trus'Me returns to Bohemian Grove, Kelvin Brown and Garth Be pitch up in the Whiskey Jar, and there's a tasty summer party from Horse Meat Disco, who are pretty much honorary Mancunians by now, surely...

Don't-miss parties this week:

Fri 8 Jul

Bohemian Grove presents Trus'Me & Space Afrika
Texture, 10pm, £10

Salford via Berlin homeboy Trus'Me leads the first Bohemian Grove party in a while, hot on the heels of a new LP on his own Prime Numbers label, Planet 4. As if that weren't enough, you've also got Manchester's dangerously good double act Space Afrika on a heavy dub live set. Btw, apparently Trus' loves fish suppers so we recommend you get your pre-club din dins at Kingfisher's.

Transmission Funk disco garden party with Horse Meat Disco
Hidden, 10pm, £7.50

Kings of the sweatpit Horse Meat Disco make yet another appearance in Manchester (seriously, we're insatiable for these guys), playing for four beautiful hours. The party actually starts at 2pm but there are only tickets remaining for the night-time bit; expect the mood to be suitably juiced by the time you get there at 10, it'll be like watersliding into the jungle.

Sat 9 Jul

July Dance! With Kelvin Brown & Garth Be
The Whiskey Jar, 10pm, £2.50/£4

The cheapest and cheerfullest (it's a word) vibes this week come from trusty selectors KB and GB down in the Whiskey Jar's cosy atmos – and if you don't get your act together and book ahead, it'll still be only a fiver on the door. Eyes Down founder Kelvin's grooves are the stuff of Manc legend, while Garth Be's terrific Sweet Sticky label continues this local legacy of breathable, heated beats. Be there.

So Flute summer session
Hidden, 10pm, £3/£5

Shifting up from their mini residency at Whiskey Jar, the So Flute bunch play the first of a couple o' summer sessions at Hidden. Keep an eye on their feeds for details of their new permanent home as of October; until then, join Flute team Danuka, Yadava and Baloo, plus Werkha and Bolts, for a night of soulful moves.

Fri 15 Jul

Hit & Run vs Red Eye HiFi
with Channel One, Fox & more
Hidden, 10pm, £2.50/£5.50

Save up yer energy for this one: one of the world's best-known reggae sound systems Channel One (repped by Mikey Dread and Ras Kayleb) goes head to head with Red Eye HiFi, refereed by the one and only Fox. Because we couldn't say it better ourselves: 'trust me, these guys have some serious dubplates!'.

High Hoops 1st Birthday
with Honey Dijon, Delta Funktionen, O'Flynn & more
Islington Mill, 23 Jul, 4pm, £12-£18

Celebrating their first annum, High Hoops bring Chicagoan vinyl head (and Derrick Carter protégé) Honey Dijon and the Four Tet-friendly O'Flynn to the Mill (playing 'til 2am). Dutch selector Delta Funktionen heads the afterparty at the close-by White Hotel (2am-8am).

Inside Out 1st Birthday with Beautiful Swimmers
Soup Kitchen, 29 Jul, 11pm, £10

There's a whole lotta love in Manc for trippy duo Beautiful Swimmers, with previous parties for Wet Play and HiKu having helped spread the word. What could be better to celebrate Inside Out's first year than their trademark fruit punch – all crushed synths and beachy house...?

Moving Metals
with Beatrice Dillon, Sean Canty & Felix Hall
Soup Kitchen, 30 Jul, 11pm, £5

Aural explorer and Karen Gwyer collaborator Beatrice Dillon tops a tremendous bill, with Demdike Stare's Sean Canty and Trilogy Tapes' Felix Hall. Five quid to tunnel pretty far deep into the abyss; usually that only gets you as far as Withington.

Festival watch

Last chance to nab tickets for Farr Festival (14-16 Jul); just under 150 weekend passes and 100 day tickets left, folks!

Watch those ticket levels for bluedot festival (22-24 Jul), too: art by Brian Eno, a headline set from Underworld, and Ben UFO, Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve and more all spinning in a space observatory. Ridic.
