Don't-miss parties this week

Lost Control 4th Birthday Warehouse Rave @ The White Hotel, 5 May

Reportedly going 'til 7am, it's a big one for Lost Control's fourth birthday bash, bringing the lush Parisian house of Flabaire to The White Hotel in a city debut, plus a live set from "Salford's very own Drexcyian aqua-technoid" D-Ball, aka Sonic Insomniac. Electro label head Chris Smith, Central Processing Unit and, of course, Black Eyes and Akaram will be keeping you warm at all other times. Happy birthday lads. From 11pm, £9.09

(Oh, and make sure to catch the pre-party beforehand at Eastern Bloc. Naturally.)

W.O.M x Mutualism present: Moiré, Sega Bodega & Loft @ The White Hotel, 6 May

All kinds of woozy, dystopic sounds will be emanating from The White Hotel on Saturday as the Actress-approved Moiré (Ghostly International) is joined by Glaswegian producer Sega Bodega (listen to the haunted sonics of latest EP Ess B below) and the fierce, fluid LOFT. There'll be projections by Elle Bulger and support comes from W.O.M & Mutualism residents. From 10pm, £7

Byron the Aquarius @ Soup Kitchen, 28 May

Responsible for bringing some of the world's most vibrant underground sounds to Manchester, promoters Banana Hill smash it once again with this booking, welcoming synth wizard Byron the Aquarius for his city debut. Having journeyed through hip hop and house, working with the likes of Flying Lotus and releasing through Theo Parrish's label, he pushes his own distinct and highly danceable brand of Atlanta-spawned weirdness. Get in there early. From 11pm, £8
