Don't-miss parties this week:

Fri 24 Jun

Metalheadz pre-party
Eastern Bloc, 3.30pm, free

Those good heads at Eastern Bloc records are bringing you 10 hours of free vibes in the shop and spilling out on to Stevenson Square this Friday. What have you done to deserve it?! Teaming up with Metalheadz, Worried About Henry and Fresh Creative to warm you up ahead of a certain massive night at Antwerp Mansion later on, they've booked Ant TC1, Response, Jim Bane and Dugy B to alleviate all work-related worries until 2am. Praise.

Sat 25 Jun

Hidden free party
Hidden, 11pm, free

Hidden's excellent residents host an all-night party in clubbers' idyll The Den for the grand total of nada. Tickets are limited to 250, however, so make haste.

Fri 1 Jul

HomoElectric presents BabyHomo
Mantra Warehouse, 10pm, £7

Cult club HomoElectric goes intimate for a one-room spin-off in Ancoats' most atmospheric warehouse. Residents Will Tramp!, Jamie Bull and Gina Breeze are all present and (in)correct, and you can expect the usual sweatbox of hard disco, euphoric lift-offs and solstice stompers to take you through 'til 4. Keep an eye out for Homo's big Pride weekend showdown at the end of August, too.

Project13: Ilian Tape showcase
with Andrea, Skee Mask, Stenny & DjRUM
Hidden, 11pm, £5/£10

The Zenker bros' formidable label Ilian Tape parties with a good chunk of its roster tonight, bringing Munich's Skee Mask and Stenny into contact with Andrea's shattering aquatics, and label newbie DjRUM. Not to be slept on.

Zutekh presents Cassy
Soup Kitchen, 11pm, £12.50

Fresh off the back of her first album, the somewhat legendary Cassy takes to Soup Kitchen with her singular fusion of soul, techno and exploratory sounds. Cassy has held long residencies at some of the world's best clubs, including Panorama Bar and Trouw, but 2016 heralds her debut release as an artist in the form of LP Donna (out 24 Jun). Her sound advice for life in general also applies to how you should behave tonight: “Be yourself and if you can’t be yourself, be Chaka Khan.”

Inside Out 1st Birthday with Beautiful Swimmers
Soup Kitchen, 29 Jul, 11pm, £10

Soup regulars Inside Out celebrate their first year in the game with dynamic duo Beautiful Swimmers, aka Andrew Field-Pickering of the flawless Future Times label and Ari Goldman. There's a lot of love for these two in Manchester, with past parties for Wet Play and HiKu having helped spread the word. Head along for their signature mix of beach-crunch synths, crushed house and a transcendental chorus or two. Oh, and to get yourself 20 favourite new records.

Festival watch

Consider yourselves warned that tickets are in short supply for Farr Festival (14-16 Jul), which brings Francis Inferno Orchestra, Helena Hauff, Moomin and many more to deepest Hertfordshire (it's worth the trek). There are fewer than 100 weekend and 50 Saturday day tickets left according to the fest's Facebook: get yer skates on.

Keep an eye on those ticket levels for bluedot festival (22-24 Jul), too: Ben UFO, George Fitzgerald and Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve all playing under the shadow of Jodrell Bank space observatory, with a great big Brian Eno artwork projected across it. WTF.
