Techno dynamos Dense and Pika are nothing if not reliable. Signed to Drumcode with an album on Scuba's Hotflush label, they're part of the big-room firmament. Catch 'em in the relatively intimate Gorilla. From 11pm, £14 

45 Filters presents The Bug & Flowdan @ Hidden, 3 Mar 

Expect a heavy one at Hidden as Kevin Martin aka The Bug drops by with his dark and swirling sound, pumped through a purpose-hired VOID rig. From 11pm, £12 

Moxie presents On Loop w/ Bambounou & Jon K @ Soup Kitchen, 3 Mar 

Parisian DJ and producer Bambounou joins seamless local selector Jon K, together with Radio 1 favourite Moxie, balloons, disco balls and, well, vibes. From 11pm, £12.50 

Synthesis: All Female Techno DJs @ Texture, 4 Mar 

As part of feminist festival Wonder Women, Manchester-based techno label and audiovisual events group Traffic showcase the best of leftfield techno from some of their favourite female DJs, including Oriel (who’s mixed sets for the likes of Tresor and Meat Free) and Eastern Bloc stalwart Kerrie. Optimo Music showcase @ Islington Mill, 4 Mar 

Six hours of back-to-back Optimo magic, with a live performance from Glasgow Art School's MR TC thrown in – creating a real tropical party of strange house, techno, leftfield disco and more. From 10pm, £12 

Hit & Run 10th Birthday @ Hidden, 4 Mar 

The drum'n'bass party celebrates a decade in the game with Dub Phizix, Icicle, Youngsta, Biome and more. Down to the final 70 tickets so be swift! From 10pm, £20

Yussef Kamaal afterparty @ Band on the Wall, 24 Mar 

Hotly tipped new Gilles Peterson signees Yussef Kamaal party on down after their gig at Band on the Wall, with band member Henry Wu – already known as an excellent DJ under his own name – on the decks, plus Manchester's own Irfan Rainy. Expect beats referencing Kamaal's hybrid sound, taking in hip-hop, broken beat, blues and soul. From 11pm, £6 or free with gig ticket

Club C.I.T.S. #2: Endgame + LOFT @ Texture, 7 Apr 

A new bimonthly club night from the brains behind two of Manchester's most progressive outfits, Annex Agency and Gesamtkunstwerk, Club C.I.T.S. aims to push the boundaries of club music. They're programming some fantastic double bills of artists operating at the thrilling fringes of the dancefloor, and their second pairing brings together Endgame, whose layered sound emerges from the cold ashes of grime, and the hallucinogenic LOFT, the latest artist to join the Astral Plane Recordings family.
