Friday welcomes Tom Houghton and Black Eyes as a warm-up to the High Hoops x Mood II Swing party later that night at Band on the Wall; and Saturday offers a Traffic in-store, with Commonplace plus Traffic residents giving it some techno 'til late.

Loose Lips with Mo Kolours, Payfone & A Broken Camarilla @ Soup Kitchen, 2 Feb

Plus East London duo Payfone making their Manchester debut, and a live set from electronic/vocal quartet A Broken Camarilla. From 11pm, £8

Club C.I.T.S. @ Texture, 3 Feb

A brand new bimonthly club night from the brains behind two of Manchester's most progressive outfits, Annex Agency and Gesamtkunstwerk, Club C.I.T.S. aims to push the boundaries of club music and has already lined up three double bills of artists operating at the thrilling fringes of the dancefloor. The first pairing brings together Bonaventure – who 'uses music as an identity research tool' – and the paranoiac perfection of Coucou Chloe's dark sonic splatters. From 10pm, £7 on the door or you can whack them the money via Paypal

High Hoops x Mood II Swing @ Band on the Wall, 4 Feb

You're in several pairs of good hands tonight, as 90s veterans Mood II Swing – whose impact extended beyond New York's house scene to techno and UK garage clubs – team up with some of Manchester's best-loved DJs. A quality affair. From 11pm, £15

Zutekh 8th birthday @ Hidden, 25 Feb

Zutekh still feels like one of the freshest nights on the scene, so it's hard to believe they're nudging a decade old. But eight they are, and they're celebrating in style by bringing in one of their long-loved regulars, Midland, ably supported by Amsterdam's Trouw club regular Job Jobse and word-of-mouth Hotflush Recordings talent Or:la. Finally, making his Zutekh debut is Mr Price of London/Bristol/Cardiff's Studio 89 party series. Hip hip! From 9pm, £15
