Don't-miss parties this week:

Adapt pre-Party with Alex Morgan, Bartski & Adapt DJs
Eastern Bloc Records, 16 Sep, 7-11pm, free

Ahead of Adapt's show at Soup Kitchen on Friday night, the good folk at Eastern Bloc host a pre-party with sets from the Adapt crew as well as Alex Morgan and Bartski. And it's free. Hooray!

Subb-an & Archie Hamilton
Hidden, 17 Sep, 11pm, £12.50

It's a top-notch double bill over at Hidden this Saturday, with One Records co-owner Subb-an and Archie Hamilton (fresh from his best newcomer nomination at the DJ Awards) on the decks.

Matias Aguayo and The Desdemonas
Soup Kitchen, 19 Sep, 7pm, £10

It's a comparatively early start, but a worthwhile one to catch the Chilean producer and Kompakt records stalwart bring his live show in full effect to Soup Kitchen.

Fiesta Bombarda Manchester Relaunch Carnival
Islington Mill, 22 Sep, 9pm, £10-£14

The everisland crew return with their latest carnival event, relaunching in Manchester with raucous rhythms, global sounds and an immersive carnival atmosphere. This one's headed up by dub-reggae figure Prince Fatty and one of our fave lads, Cervo of Banana Hill.

Modern Love showcase
The White Hotel, Salford, 30 Sep, 11pm, £15

Several of Manchester's darkest practitioners assemble for an evening of haunted audio and sonic excavations; of course, we could only be talking about Andy Stott and Demdike Stare, who are joined tonight in a Modern Love label showcase by Equiknoxx, Low Jack, Acre, Conor Thomas and Szare. Only 250 tickets avail for this one so get your skates on.

Kowton
Soup Kitchen, 29 Oct, 11pm, £10

Since rising to prominence with Bristol-based crew Livity Sound, Joe Cowton – aka Kowton – has dovetailed his wide-ranging sonic explorations into a focused debut LP, Utility. He brings his trademark spartan rhythms embellished with colour and melody to Manchester tonight, supported tonight by Boomkat's Conor Thomas and Utrecht's A Made Up Sound.

Warehouse Project 2016

A load of nights have sold out already, of course, but highlights you can still buy tickets for include a Levelz bash, a Bugged Out! love-in with Daniel Avery, Jeremy Underground and Jimmy Edgar, and a heavy one from The Ape with Danny Brown, Wiley, Oneman and Wookie.
