One of Manchester's favourite clubs, Hidden has had a bit of a 'New Year, new me' facelift, with the first two weeks of Jan seeing a renovation of the main room and some new toilets put in. Lovely jubbly. They christen the spick and span space with heavy Bristol duo Kahn and Neek, plus Biome, Rich Reason and more. From 10pm, £7.50
Covert's Welcome to 2017 party @ Sankeys, 14 Jan
Covert are in their customary generous mood, throwing another free party – this time to welcome in 2017. Turn up before 11.30pm and pay nada, after that it's a tenner to party with OC & Verde, Just Jorge, Lewis Smith, Mike Lavercombe, Ryan Croft and Lucas Martin. Project 13 & Annex: Helena Hauff @ Hidden, 20 Jan
No one goes as hard as Project 13, who team up with Annex Agency to present Hamburg's mistress of experimental EBM/leftfield electronics, Helena Hauff. She's joined by Minimal Wave Records figurehead Veronica Vasicka, NTS Radio regular and dredger of electronic sludge Lee Gamble playing back to back with L.I.E.S. label founder Ron Morelli, and Poland's club Radar originator Olivia.
