The Red Bull Music Academy UK tour lands in Liverpool (6-9 Oct) for the first time this year, and there's a bevvy of great nights to get along to.

Things kick off on 6 Oct with an evening of digital soul at Sefton Park Palm House led by SG Lewis, a former university student in Liverpool who invites along one of his personal influences, Mercury Prize nominee Jamie Woon. They're joined by Merseyside producer Suedebrown in a celebration of the city's future-soul talents.

The night continues with Credit to the Edit, a lively party at Buyers Club led by Greg Wilson

Hip hop is under the microscope on Fri 7 Oct, as Constellations hosts a discussion between Krept & Konan, who'll be talking about staying true to their roots while cracking into the mainstream. They then pop down the road to Camp and Furnace for a live showcase of some of the most vital sounds in UK hip hop right now, joined by acts including Rejjie Snow and Loyle Carner.

Finally on Friday, Masters at Work legend Kenny Dope takes us well into the night at The Merchant, exploring the connections between hip hop and house and supported by the always-impressive Kidkanevil. We have a pair of tickets for Krept & Konan and Kenny Dope to give away – enter the competition here.

Sat 8 Oct welcomes the one and only Moodymann to Invisible Wind Factory, who will perform inside the Club Cosmos installation – the venue will be made into an immersive musical environment using laser modules and mirrored kinetic sculptures.

Tthe weekend comes to a close on Sun 9 Oct with Rhymeantics, a big celebration of the art of MCs and poets curated by D Double E of Newham Generals.

And if you can't get along to RBMA Liverpool, fear not: the tour comes to Leeds 27-30 Oct. Check out our preview of a special exhibition documenting the history and energy of grime, which will form part of the Leeds programme.
