Don't-miss parties this week:

Fri 19 Aug

Melōs Late Night Techno Party
24 Kitchen Street, 11pm, £3

We like people who say it like it is, and this is quite literally a late-night techno party. More specifically, it's the launch night for Liverpool-founded techno collective Melōs, specialising in the darker, sleepless side of all things hypnotic.

Sessions Faction & Friends Summer Jam
Constellations, 6pm, free

Sessions Faction said they were gonna take it easy after their fifth birthday bash in January but it turns out they couldn't resist the opportunity to throw a summer party in the Constellations garden (who could?). They've got some of Liverpool's finest in tow, including Less Effect and Roots in Bass, so you can expect a heady medley of grime, reggae, d'n'b and everything in between.

Alerta! Liverpool
24 Kitchen Street, 8pm, £5

Merseyside Anti-Fascist Network presents a fundraiser rave. All money raised from tickets will go towards supporting anti-fascist political prisoners.

STATK presents Adam Shelton & MR KS
New Bird Street Warehouse, 7pm, £12

One of the biggest nights this month comes courtesy of the STATK crew, who take over the Botanical Garden from 7pm and continue through to 4am with One Records founder Adam Shelton.

Sat 20 Aug

Krunk Apocolympics
The Kazimier Garden, 20 Aug, 8pm, £5/£12

Note: This event has moved from Invisible Wind Factory to Kazimier Garden.

Everything's going to hell in a handbasket so we may as well enjoy ourselves, eh? From the brainiacs behind the Kaz/Invisible Wind Factory comes a loveably odd party, Krunk Apocolympics. Take part in an evening of catastrophic competitive sports – including Recession Relay, Disaster Dressage and Chasm Jumping – all soundtracked by DJs until 4am.

The Wonder Pot with Helena Hauff
24 Kitchen Street, 22 Sep, 10pm, £8

Hamburg's Helena Hauff makes her Liverpool debut at one of our favourite venues. With an instict for riveting EBM, avant-garde electro and general aural psychosis, Hauff is one of the most exciting producers working at the moment. Check out a playlist she put together for us

303 presents Henry Saiz all night long
Williamson Tunnels, 24 Sep, 9pm, £10 (NUS), £15

Spanish selector Henry Saiz is known for his exploratory tastes and some iconic remixes. Take this opportunity to go deep with him, into his collection and into Liverpool's atmospheric Tunnels, for a six-hour set.
